  Welding for Sculpture - Beginning Fundamentals - Saturday Morning Class March 21 - April 4, 2009 (Saturdays, 9:30am-12:30pm) — Practical instruction of the safe use of welding tools and methods to construct assemblages of steel objects into desired arrangements. Hands on instruction will cover the basics of arc and oxy-acetylene welding techniques as well as finishing touches. The goal is for each student to become proficient enough to complete their own project piece. Participants 16 and up are asked to bring their own collected/found material, steel only, test with magnet. Proper apparel must be worn for safety such as leather shoes, cap, loose fitting long sleeve shirt and pants. Students are expected to bring protective gloves, welding gloves, welding goggles, arc helmets, face shields, and dust respirators. Limit 6 students. See website for materials list.
